LGmytouch T Mobile Officially Announces The Mytouch and Mytouch Q by LG

LG MyTouch and LG MyTouch Q

Today T-Mobile announced the LG myTouch and myTouch Q. You may remember the duo from last months T-Mobile Youtube slip, which left us wondering about the possibility of one device having a QWERTY keyboard. Well, no more guessing, it’s now official. There’s the LG myTouch, which will not have a physical keyboard and the myTouch Q, which will be equipped with a QWERTY keyboard.

Both devices will be running Android 2.3 and rocking a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 5MP camera with 720p video, and a Genius button. Besides the Q having a physical keyboard, it will also sport a smaller 3.5 inch touchscreen, while the myTouch will have a 3.8 inch touchscreen. The Q will also lack the front facing camera and T-Mobile Video Chat which comes on the myTouch version. Both devices will feature T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 4G and be available to purchase in one of two colors. The myTouch will be offered in either black or white, while the myTouch Q will come in either gray or violet. I guess they are assuming more females use physical keyboards than males? I think they’re right.

There’s no mention of price or release date but they’re definitely coming. Anyone interested in a LG myTouch series? Let us know what you think of T-Mobile’s latest offerings. [PH]

adobe flash 11 and air 3 Adobe to Release Flash 11 and AIR 3 Tonight

Adobe Flash Player 11 and AIR 3

Today Adobe is rocking the news with their MAX conference. They have just announced the much anticipated Adobe Flash Player 11 will be available starting tonight for multiple platforms, including Android. Same rules apply for Air 3.0 and they will be available tonight at 9:00 PM PT or early morning for you East Coast folks. The latest Flash updates will bring significant changes that were detailed in-depth back in September.

Sadly for mobile and Android this initial release wont see the new Stage 3D codenamed “Molehill”. Although both flash and air will eventually bring major improvements to mobile that will help to stabilize and revolutionize the way we game and consume content on the web and our mobile devices. Stage 3D was one of the most exciting aspects of the new Flash 11 and while it is coming soon, its sad that we can’t see it today on Android.

More details can be found over on the Adobe blog and the downloads for both Flash 11 and Air 3.0 should go live tonight around 9:00 PM PST. For now until everything gets incorporated into Android we’ll just have to wait and watch. Soon we’ll be experiencing amazing 2D and 3D graphics at upwards of 60 FPS on our Honeycomb tablets for some true console-style gaming. Stay tuned for more details regarding Android as the Adobe event continues, below is one example of what we can expect to see coming soon.[AC]

Turns out, Sony Ericsson is really coming around to the understanding that Android phones are not a one-size-fits-all proposition. After taking notice of the FreeXperia team’s tireless efforts to bring CyanogenMod 7.1 to certain SE devices, the company is now “pulling a Samsung” by lending its support to the cause. The firm has provided the group with approximately 20 phones, along with debugged and rebuilt camera library binaries to ensure a proper user experience.

Not stopping there, Sony Ericsson hopes to make these bits available to all developers under a special EULA in the near future. Of course, the company continues to remind its users that it doesn’t specifically condone unlocking the bootloader — which still results in a void warranty — even though it’s willing to help you do just that. The slim, QWERTY-equipped handset has just popped up on Verizon’s site, where users can now order one for $250 on a two-year contract, or $510 sans contract.
