Well, Other World Computing would be happy to quell your woes with its SandForce-equipped Mercury Aura Pro Express 6G. The company’s latest storage upgrade steps things up from its 3Gb/s versions, promising to get your tasks zooming with consistent speeds of “over 500MB/s” (achieved by utilizing the ’11 Air’s SATA Revision 3.0, 6Gb/s bus). ASUS is one of the many manufacturers backing Google’s Android mobile platform looking to get into the game with both smartphones and tablets. Already they have the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer tablet on the market which has been garnering almost exclusively positive reviews. Well, if you are looking for a tablet that doesn’t have a detachable keyboard but instead a slide-out one the Eee Pad Slider may be the one for you.
If you’ve been paying attention you may know that Amazon briefly posted the Eee Pad Slider for pre-order only to quickly pull the listing not long after. Well, our friends over at Engadget recently got some hands on time with the device in NYC to pressure ASUS reps into giving some answers. Apparently, the company is set on bringing the device to the United States at some point before the end of September with a starting price tag of $475 for the 16GB WiFi model. Additionally, they’ve also assured us that the tablet will come complete with the latest Android ‘Honeycomb’ 3.2 rather than an earlier, slightly out of date version.
Unfortunately we don’t have a more solid release date for the ASUS Eee Pad Slider but, as always, we’ll keep you posted.
