nexus prime details Galaxy Nexus & Nexus Prime Appear In Best Buy Database – Which One Is It?

On October 19th Google and Samsung will finally be coming forth to announce the latest Android ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’. This is the step forward that is to merge both Gingerbread and Honeycomb making for a platform good for both tablets and smartphones alike. However, at this event a brand new addition to the Nexus smartphone line up is expected to be announced. This device is commonly referred to as the Nexus Prime but we’ve also heard that it may be called the Galaxy Nexus.

Unfortunately we can’t confirm which name the device will have as the announcement is yet to happen. But, as if we need more confusion, reports have begun surfacing regarding additions to Best Buy’s database. On one hand we have a report that says a device dubbed the Nexus Prime has appeared in said database. However, we also have an additional report that says a device named the Galaxy Nexus has appeared in the database.

This could have happened for many different reasons but if you’re really wondering the name your best bet would be to stay tuned on October 19th when we’ll be covering the event.

kindlefire1 Amazon Kindle Fire To Surpass 5 Million Sales In Q4?

We just got done telling you that Android Honeycomb tablet sales numbers may be in the disappointingly low range of 3.4 million. This is quite the small number when compared to Apple’s iPad which has remained the dominant tablet on the market ever since being released. But, if you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know that Amazon recently came forth to announce a tablet of their own dubbed the Kindle Fire.

While this tablet technically runs Google’s Android the untrained eye would not be able to tell such a phenomenon due to it being so heavily modified. However, if recent analysts are to be believed, the Kindle Fire may quickly become the best-selling Android powered tablet on the market. In fact, these analysts suggest that the Kindle Fire may sell as many as 5 million units in Q4 alone. If true (or even remotely true) this means that in a single quarter there would be more Kindle Fires on the market than Android Honeycomb powered tablets altogether.

This doesn’t seem like too much of a far-fetched claim considering the Kindle Fire will be priced at just $199.99 brand new while featuring decent specs including a dual-core processor.

shin sgt 101 Dutch Court Turns Down Samsung’s Plea To Ban Apple Products; US Court Reckons Galaxy Tab To Infringe iPad Patents

Not the best of days if you’re a part of Samsung’s legal counsel. The court in Hague has rejected Samsung’s claim of patent infringement by Apple and thus, rejecting the appeal to ban on sales of Apple iPhone and iPad.

Judge was of the opinion that Samsung’s 3G patents were a part of essential standards and both companies should negotiate licensing under FRAND.

Meanwhile in United States, U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh said that Galaxy Tab infringed iPad related patents but the injunction will depend on Apple to prove the patents are valid.

EEE Note EA800 – The Stylus Enabled Electronic Notepad From ASUS – User Review

EEE Note EA800 EEE Note EA800 – The Stylus Enabled Electronic Notepad From ASUS – User Review

Tablets are all the rage nowadays, it seems, and the stylus is not only not getting any love, but it actually seems to have become a universally hated thing of the past, when touch screens were soft, very scratch able and had a pretty bad image quality. But the stylus isn’t as bad as everyone thinks, not at all!

To tell you the truth, it’s been a very looong time since I last wrote anything longer than a sentence with a pen – I can’t even write my signature without thinking carefully first – but I always used the stylus on my old PDA, because it was so much easier to touch the exact location on the screen that I wanted, and with the D-pads fading from smartphones, it looks like I’m going to buy one just for this purpose – I just can’t use the damn slider that Android provides for positioning the cursor between the letters I want to edit!

And I also miss taking written drawings with notes, but fortunately some manufacturers seem to have noticed a potential niche here and they’ve prepared something that many people would like – stylus operated notebook replacement tablets! Asus was one of the first companies to announce one of these, and it manifested itself into the EEE note EA800 – a pretty nifty device for the right price!

The EEE Note EA800 (first of a series, I think) looks just like any other tablet or e-reader on the market – there’s nothing special worth noting about the exterior, but you’ll immediately notice the different display once you power the device up: this thing only has a grayscale display, capable of showing 64 shades of gray – as I said, this is a paper notebook replacement, not a tablet. The 3H hardness is specifically made for the stylus/pen, and it should feel almost as good as real paper to be writing on this pad. The screen is 8 inches across, with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels – pretty nice density for the size.

Despite the grayscale display, the EEE Note does have a camera – a 2 megapixels one, to be precise, which is still useful as you can see the photos you’ve taken on the display, it’s not like it’s monochromatic. If we’re on the topic of hardware features, the EA800 also has a micro SD card slot (and 4 GB of internal storage space), a Wifi adapter, 3.5 mm audio jack, a micro USB port and a 3700 mAh battery that should last 10 days in standby and about 10 hours of continuous use – it’s not exactly an e-reader (a Pearl E-Ink display would’ve been great, but the lag would’ve killed the experience).

Asus chose to use a custom Linux-based OS for the new note taker, and that is probably a mistake, as using Android would’ve given it an advantage since it would’ve still allowed all the apps on the marketplace, which is always good.

The stylus experience, which is arguably the most important thing on the EEE Note, is great: you can easily take notes and write, the accuracy of the pen is very high and the display is very close to the surface, so you don’t feel like you’re writing on air.

The price has been announced to be about $200, which is pretty fair and might actually give the EEE Note EA800 a fighting chance: journalists should love it, I think.

T mobile tab Market Sharing War: Latest is $200 Tab From T Mobile

Today, the consumer electronic market of full of brands and each brand is trying to cut more and more share, especially in electronic gadgets market. iPad, Android tabs, Kindle Fire and still we may see something new and innovative in coming future.

The Market Watch

After the launch of iPad in the year 2010, all the manufacturers who were involved into consumer electronics thought of coming up with something that would give a strong fight to Apple. But the truth is, despite Android tablets have hit the markets but they are not selling as iPads still cover 60% of market share which is reasonably good. Consumers are not looking for tablets, they want iPads. It would not be wrong to say that; Android tablets have not been successful in gaining the reputation which Apple iPads have earned in the last one year.

$200 Tab from T-Mobile

T-Mobile teamed up with Chinese computer company Huawei to introduce a sub-$200 tablet and it looks like HTC with its sturdy exterior and metal looks. Basically, it’s a 7-inch tablet and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. Fortunately, there are some features which are present in the Springboard which Amazon’s Fire: it comes with a 5-megapixel front facing camera and a 1.3 mega-pixel back facing camera. Since Amazon and Huawei both have different opinion for cameras since Amazon is not in favour of having cameras on tablets but Huawei is, so we will have to wait and watch when their tablets are released.

13 Yipai C7 tablet Yipai C7 Android Tablets Are Colorful

Dual-core processors for Android tablets seem to be the standard these days – even Shenzhen manufacturers have started using them in their own creations. A company named Yipai has released a new tablet called the C7, which is powered by Renesas’ A9 EV2 dual-core processor. Pretty impressive for a sub $100 tablet. Other specs of the Yipai C7 include: a 7″ capacitive display, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a front facing camera, microSD card slot (up to 32GB), 2x USB 2.0 ports, a 4100mAh battery, optional 3G and GPS, HDMI output, and Android 2.2.

While Android 2.2 might be a turn off for some people, it is a budget tablet after all, and with any luck, users should have no problem finding a way to root the device and upgrade it with a custom ROM. The tablet will be available in eight different colors: grey, silver, purple, green, brown, yellow, blue and black. No word on whether they’ll hit the US, but they definitely look like pretty decent budget devices. More pictures at the source link.
