On October 19th Google and Samsung will finally be coming forth to announce the latest Android ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’. This is the step forward that is to merge both Gingerbread and Honeycomb making for a platform good for both tablets and smartphones alike. However, at this event a brand new addition to the Nexus smartphone line up is expected to be announced. This device is commonly referred to as the Nexus Prime but we’ve also heard that it may be called the Galaxy Nexus.
Unfortunately we can’t confirm which name the device will have as the announcement is yet to happen. But, as if we need more confusion, reports have begun surfacing regarding additions to Best Buy’s database. On one hand we have a report that says a device dubbed the Nexus Prime has appeared in said database. However, we also have an additional report that says a device named the Galaxy Nexus has appeared in the database.
This could have happened for many different reasons but if you’re really wondering the name your best bet would be to stay tuned on October 19th when we’ll be covering the event.
