Kakai, a California-based start-up company, has just showcased the prototype of their Kno Tablet at the 8th Annual Conference of D: All Things Digital, otherwise known as D8. This could be a new rival to the iPad because the tablet will feature Flash, dual 14-inch screens and it is expected to cost well under $1000 which designed for educational market. The tablet will offer full web-browsing, including Flash 10.1. Kakai’s CEO, Osman Rashid said that the tablet has the support of most of the major textbook manufacturers. The Kno comes with two batteries one in each screen so that the tablet will have eight hours of battery life, and the OS will be a customized system built off of Linux, but designed with touchscreen applications in mind. You can Pre-order it starting from October, and the Kno is set to ship in time for the holidays. [digitaltrends]
