We recently got a good news for the Kyocera Echo owners because it appears that Sprint will get a Gingerbread update Starting from August 1st (next Monday) via update 2.002SP. Not only will this be a bump from Android 2.2 to 2.3, but the update will also include security fixes, SWYPE 3.0 and improved hardware performance. As with previous software updates, the Echo’s Gingerbread update is slated to roll out over a four-day period (10%, 25%, 25%, 1oo%). The internal memo doesn’t mention anything about a manual option, so we may have a bit of a waiting game for some. Can’t wait for it.
