If you take a look at the current tablet trends you’ll see mostly dual-core processors, large screens and a tablet-centric mobile platform like Android Honeycomb. However, that’s not to say that all tablets on the market need to feature these characteristics as devices like the Samsung Galaxy Tab have long been on the market.
For those not familiar with this tablet it features a 7-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution, single-core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage, microSD slot for additional storage, 3.2 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash and 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. While these specs may seem somewhat low end as of now the price tag of the Galaxy Tab is still quite high largely due to the fact that only a 3G enabled version is available on the market. Luckily, we’ve known for quite some time that Samsung would be getting around to releasing a WiFi-only version of the Galaxy Tab but we haven’t been sure exactly when they will be releasing the device.
If you’re one to believe early listings make note that Amazon UK has just posted the WiFi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab for 299 GBP ($477 USD) with a ship date of March 31st. Is this to be believed? We aren’t sure quiet yet but it’s true we’re sure to hear an official announcement quite soon seeing how the 31st is but a few days away. For more information visit Amazon.
