MioPad 6 is a new android tablet from MiTAC. It was previewed in the last edition of the Taipei Computer Application Show. Its thin enough (about 11.6 mm) and with a simple design and rational, and is equipped with an unnamed 1GHz processor. From the few reports that are circulating on the Net, it would seem that, despite the confirmed presence of a WiFi module for wireless connection, 3G connectivity is absent. This detail does not seem very convincing those who work in limiting, to some extent, the completeness of the tablet.
The company has refrained from providing official information. Are not known, therefore, more information about the technical specifications of the MiTAC MioPad 6, which should still be quite far from the likes of giants Galaxy Tab Samsung or Apple iPad. According to reports, the tablet should be officially launched on the market at the end of this month at an approximate cost of $ 380 equal to about 265 euros at current exchange rates. For these reasons, it is reasonable to expect that the rest of the technical specifications will be released shortly.

We recently got a good news for the Kyocera Echo owners because it appears that Sprint will get a Gingerbread update Starting from August 1st (next Monday) via update 2.002SP. Not only will this be a bump from Android 2.2 to 2.3, but the update will also include security fixes, SWYPE 3.0 and improved hardware performance. As with previous software updates, the Echo’s Gingerbread update is slated to roll out over a four-day period (10%, 25%, 25%, 1oo%). The internal memo doesn’t mention anything about a manual option, so we may have a bit of a waiting game for some. Can’t wait for it.

While we all like to dream about Android Ice Cream Sandwich, there are those who have in their possession Android phones which still run version 2.1 of the operating system unfortunately. Such is the case with the Motorola Defy, or used to be the case. Customers of T-Mobile USA have started receiving an update to Android 2.2 Froyo (which, of course, still isn’t the latest version, but at least it’s miles ahead of the positively ancient 2.1) back in April.
Last week, those who got their Defy in the UK started receiving the update as well, with one exception apparently: customers of T-Mobile UK. Those who got their devices from TMo’s UK arm are still stuck on Android 2.1.
Luckily, the operator has taken to Twitter today to announce that that won’t be the case for long. It will be pushing out the Android 2.2 Froyo update to Motorola Defy smartphones it sold in the UK at the beginning of July.
Since the literal beginning of July is in a week from now, that means that owners of TMo-branded Defy handsets in the UK only have a bit more waiting to do before they step into 2010, with their OS version at least.
As this will be an over-the-air update, the rollout will be staggered, so even if it starts on July 1, not all Defy owners will receive it on the same day. Still, if you’ve waited this long, a few more days are nothing. Right?

Casio’s macho G’zOne Commando is coming to Verizon on April 28th for a price of $200 on-contract. The Commando strays from a long line of durable dumbphones, and is the first ruggedized Android handset on Verizon’s network.

The best way to get Froyo on your Defy was to drop the thing while eating at a TCBY — thankfully, the water and drop-resistant Motorola handset could take the abuse. Things are a bit easier now, however; the company announced today that the rugged handset is finally getting an Android 2.2 update, hot on the heels of Verizon’s Samsung Fascinate — half a year after the operating system first hit the market and a bit later than originally rumored. Amazon Wireless is chopping the Thunderbolt, Verizon’s original 4G bad boy, down to the extremely palatable price of $130 on contract, valid for new Verizon subscribers who buy the phone between now and midnight Pacific Time on Monday. The 4.3-inch, Android 2.2 smartphone from HTC impressed us greatly with the 4G speeds it was able to pull down inour review, and while those might not remain quite so spectacular once that network starts loading up more customers, a price like the present one makes it an excellent proposition in the short term. The new AT&T LG Phoenix is a nice phone! The size is wonderful, the apps are awesome and Android 2.2 makes it go super fast. My friend has the Sprint version and after using it, it has such a nice feel and the touch screen is very responsive. It really lets you personalize it the way you want. The battery life on this phone is fantastic compared to the Evo. It lasts all day, playing music, using gps, calls, etc.
The AT&T LG Phoenix cell phone features include a 3.2 inch HVGA (480 x 320) multi-touch display, 3.2MP camera, 600MHz processor, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, 2GB memory card pre-installed, 160MB User Memory w/ microSD storage (up to 32GB).

Apparently, the Cloud Touch Facebook phone has just passed the FCC according to INQ. It appears that the device is heading toward AT&T. We know this because after the testing, the Cloud Touch seems have both GSM 850 and 1900 bands, also WCDMA Bands II and V.
The device suspected to be price at $500 unsubsidized or $30 with a two year deal from AT&T. The launch date is yet to be announce. It would packed with a Qualcomm MSM7227 800MHz processor, 3.5” touch screen, 512MB of internal storage, GPS, WiFi, a 5MP camera, and Bluetooth. Since it’s a Facebook phone, of course it would have a lot of FB features on it like status updates, chat places, and events.
