MotoKey Social Facebook phone MotoKey Social Is Officially Motorola’s Facebook Phone

That Motorola EX225 Facebook phone that we’ve been telling you about since September has been made official by the company, under the rather odd name of MotoKey Social.

According to the phone’s official product page, “If your Founding Fathers are Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Gmail, MotoKey is your smartphone.” But don’t get fooled by the inclusion of Gmail here: the MotoKey is not an Android handset.

The new device obviously features a dedicated Facebook button, full QWERTY keyboard, 2.4 inch QVGA touchscreen display, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headset jack, 3MP camera, and MicroSD card support.

For the moment, the MotoKey Social shows up only at Motorola Canada, so I guess that’s the country where it will be released first (apparently via Telus). We don’t know when exactly, though, and neither for what price (it should be a low one).

Good News for the owner of iPhone, you can upgrade your Facebook app to the latest version of the Facebook application which is now at version 3.5.
The new features of Facebook 3.5 for the iPhone will make life much easier for all the users, it comes with sharing options directly on the “compose screen” so you can set the privacy controls before hand, and there are also new designs for the Profile and for Group Walls.

This fresh version of Facebook also lets users tag friends and places when writing a post, but one of the best improvements can be found on the “compose screen” that now features buttons to add specific friends from a list, upload a photo, or tag a place. Another good detail that many people will certainly like are the chat bugs that have disappeared, as well as a fix on the notifications bar.

The iPhone version of Facebook 3.5 is already available for update, and the iPad version will be the next to follow in the upcoming days.

Nike this week rolled out updates to its Nike+ GPS app, including bug fixes and an auto-calibration feature, which should help improve the accuracy of your run. Also on-board are social features, which push running updates to Facebook and Twitter. The tweets / posts can thankfully be edited before being sent out into the world, but we’d recommend using a bit of discretion before loading up your feeds with the minutiae of your latest workout. The updated app can be downloaded now for $2 from iTunes.

Facebook App For iPad in The Works

facebook logo Facebook App For iPad in The Works

We’re not sure why it’s taken them so long, but Facebook is putting the final touches on an app that will be available for iPad users. Many Facebook users have resorted to using third-party apps to access the popular social networking site on their tablet devices, including My Pad, iFace and Friendly.

The delay in an iPad-friendly app might be due to Facebook’s rumored plans of a new mobile platform that will take on Apple’s App Store, according to reports.
Called “Project Spartan,” it will reportedly be HTML5-based and will aim to “break the stranglehold” Apple currently has on the mobile app market.

Previously, Facebook was quick to launch their mobile app for the iPhone when the app store launched in 2008. The iPad though has been out since April 2010, with users waiting over a year for an app from the social-networking giant.

All your sci-fi dreams of being able to talk to your gadgets and have the do your bidding are slowly becoming a reality. Nuance, the company behind Dragon NaturallySpeaking, has been at the forefront of the technology since 1997 and, with the release of 11.5, it has added a few neat tricks to its dictation-taking repertoire. On the desktop side, new widgets allow you to post updates to your Facebook and Twitter accounts simply by saying “post to” you social network of choice before spouting off your status update — perfect for drunk tweeting when those beer goggles make it hard to hit the keys.

Nuance also released the Dragon Remote Mic App for iOS, which turns your Apple device into a wireless mic that beams commands and dictated notes straight to your PC. We’re pretty excited for all this voice control stuff — so long as our computers don’t start refusing our requests in a detached monotone. Check out the PR after the break.

INQ CLOUD TOUCH WHI FT BK GRP 524x5401 Cloud Touch Facebook Phone Passed FCC

Apparently, the Cloud Touch Facebook phone has just passed the FCC according to INQ. It appears that the device is heading toward AT&T. We know this because after the testing, the Cloud Touch seems have both GSM 850 and 1900 bands, also WCDMA Bands II and V.

The device suspected to be price at $500 unsubsidized or $30 with a two year deal from AT&T. The launch date is yet to be announce. It would packed with a Qualcomm MSM7227 800MHz processor, 3.5” touch screen, 512MB of internal storage, GPS, WiFi, a 5MP camera, and Bluetooth. Since it’s a Facebook phone, of course it would have a lot of FB features on it like status updates, chat places, and events.

HTCbookfone Another HTC Facebook Phone Details Emerge

Rumors has spread around the web regarding the Facebook phone being made by HTC. Yes, Facebook is following Google with it Nexus one. The Facebook phone will have Facebook’s color scheme and branding and more attention toward the Facebook news feed.
According to our sources, there are several things that seriously being looked at for addition of the Facebook phone:

-Location-aware coupons that push to your phone when you are near where you can actually use them.

-An always-on GPS service that runs in the background and shares your info with friends / apps like the coupon thing. There are some disturbing privacy implications there, but I doubt most buyers will care.

-Very little, if any, local storage. Everything is in the cloud.

-There will be a camera, but it will upload straight to the cloud.

-The phone will include a news ticker notification system that pushes all of your different accounts into one mass inbox.

What do you think about it? [SP]

Dokobots is a game for iOS that involves some geo-location action just like Foursquare. Dokobots works as a global scavenger hunt, and it gives the user the ability to “scan” a map of a surrounding area in order to get your robot army.

Actually, I think the robots are pretty harmless. However, Dokobots will awake in a blank slate, and it is up to the user to give the individual robots a name and function. So if you want to have a Dokobot that visits “every dive bar in the world”, you can. I don’t really understand how this game actually works, but Dokobots allows the user to place the robots onto a scene and share an image on Facebook, Twitter, and Email. Why don’t you just try it for free on iTunes?
