Announced by Sprint at CTIA 2011 as a US-only CDMA / WiMax device, the HTC Evo 3D seems to be making its way to Europe, too.
According to HTC France’s Twitter account, the handset will be released in France under the same moniker, but obviously in a GSM flavor.
Unfortunately, an exact launch date and info on pricing have not been given.
The Evo 3D is not only HTC’s first 3D smartphone, but also the first to have a qHD (960 x 540 pixels) display, and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. Other features include Android 2.3, Sense UI, Wi-Fi, GPS, dual 5MP photo camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 1GB RAM, and 4GB of on-board storage space. That’s more than enough to give the LG Optimus 3D a run for its money.

Rumors has spread around the web regarding the Facebook phone being made by HTC. Yes, Facebook is following Google with it Nexus one. The Facebook phone will have Facebook’s color scheme and branding and more attention toward the Facebook news feed.
According to our sources, there are several things that seriously being looked at for addition of the Facebook phone:
-Location-aware coupons that push to your phone when you are near where you can actually use them.
-An always-on GPS service that runs in the background and shares your info with friends / apps like the coupon thing. There are some disturbing privacy implications there, but I doubt most buyers will care.
-Very little, if any, local storage. Everything is in the cloud.
-There will be a camera, but it will upload straight to the cloud.
-The phone will include a news ticker notification system that pushes all of your different accounts into one mass inbox.
What do you think about it? [SP]

This HTC dual-mode slider is listed as the HTC PD42100 and this dual-mode HTC slider on the FCC now. The smartphone has a 4-inch screen and a four-row keyboard. Here we have a statement from FCC according to my Source:
According to the FCC documents, the PD42100 features support for CDMA and GSM networks, EV-DO Rev. A 3G, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n/), and Bluetooth. The back of the phone shows that it has a removable battery, a microSD expansion slot, and a camera with a LED flash. There’s no mention of the processor and memory, but I’d guess that we’ll get at least a 1GHz chip with 512MB RAM/ROM. Based on HTC’s recent history, I’d expect the camera to be in the range of 8 megapixels.
I guess we’ll be seeing the smartphone though we haven’t got further information regarding the price and release date of this PD42100.
