Windows Mobile

After the Windows Phone 7 Series Announcement, Microsoft plans Windows Mobile 6.5 to be renamed by Windows Phone “CLASSIC”. I wonder why does Microsoft choose the CLASSIC word coz it sounds very old. The answer from Microsoft is that WinMo 6.5 will continue to be supported, and will coexist alongside the new Windows Phone 7. I don’t know what Microsoft might have planned once Windows Phone 7 available, will they abandon the Classic? What about the older version from WinMo 6.5? Should it be called SUPER-CLASSIC? Windows Phone 7 Review and Video Collection

Posted on 15 February 2010 by Cyn

I’m curious about the windows phone 7, what is thiss little thing can do? what about the graphics? what about the performance? and else. so why don’t we have a look on the video collection here.

First the video comes from Slash Gear :

“We had a chance to try out some of the prototypes – though not take photos or video yet – earlier on today, and first impressions are reasonably positive. Microsoft were at pains to point out that it’s still an in-development build, and indeed we saw various bugs and slow-downs. Often these would take place when opening an app, with data being pulled in but no on-screen indication of that taking place nor its progress. The touchscreen on the development device seemed responsive, as was the onscreen keyboard, and the animations are smooth. The browser supports pinch-zoom and will eventually reflow text on a double-tap.”

Second comes from Neowin

“Based on the basics that Microsoft demonstrated today, the platform appears to have a bright future. The user interface is simple but extremely useful. It’s clear Microsoft has looked at the criticism of Windows Mobile in the same way it did with Windows Vista and has stepped back and made a great product because of this. We’ll know a lot more about the developer strategy and applications at MIX 2010 next month but until then the underlying OS is a great start. Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO, confirmed that we should expect devices in time for the holiday season 2010 but Microsoft officials refused to give exact dates.”

500x 500x winmo7 01 Microsoft to announce Windows Mobile 7 on Monday at MWC, Confirmed

First it was just a rumor, but now, it’s a reality. Yes guys, The Wall Street Journal has recently confirmed that Microsoft will introduce its new mobile OS on Monday, February 15th during Mobile World Conference in Barcelona.  And as you know that the Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is also coming, So i think it’s confirmed .Because Steve only comes in BIG announcements. The show will start at 3pm local time on Monday 15 February . The Wall Street Journal says:

At a wireless industry conference in Barcelona on Monday, the company plans to publicly show a new version of its cellphone operating system, Windows Mobile 7, for the first time, according to people familiar with the matter. The operating system sports a revamped user interface that resembles the look of Microsoft’s Zune HD music player, people who have seen it said.

So here we are . Here you can see that  WSJ also claims that Windows Phone 7 will come with a new UI, resembling the one on Zune. And i dont think so MS will announce a Zune Phone .So it’s mean if WinMo 7 is coming then WinMo 6.5 is dead. . What you guys think about it?[Gizmodo]

The UI itself will be very similar to the look of the Zune HD, with a completely new Start screen. Have a look on the unofficial features:
