Samsung’s latest line of PMPs run on Android OS but the Korean company will soon launch an affordable touchscreen-equipped media player running proprietary OS in Russia and other parts of the globe. The YP-R2 PMP is really small that measures 50.9×90.9×8.6mm and is clearly influenced by Galaxy S II with its textured battery cover design.

The PMP comes with a 3-inch WQVGA LCD, 4 or 8GB of storage, SoundAlive, FM Radio, voice recorder, mic and a battery life of 40 hours for music and 4 hours for video. The player also supports variety of multimedia codecs, including mp3HD and has a feature called as Music Square that sorts and organizes music tracks according to user’s preferences.

This MovieBook supports almost all common media formats such as RM/RMVB, MP4, MKV, OGG, FLAC, DTS..etc. It does also image viewing and voice recording. The Cowon Company has presented their new HD PMP dubbed as the ‘Cowon V5 HD’. The PMP supports HD video playback and HD TV out function. Coming with a 4.8 inch display and 16.7 million colors LCD touchscreen, the PMP looks slim with 15.7mm thickness and 197g weight and it also supports HDMI and SD Card. Other features included BBE+, JetEffect 3.0, a built-in speaker, electronic dictionary function, T-DMB, voice recorder, text/photo viewer, mobile games and more.
