Sony Tablet P review Sony Tablet P – A Very Unique And Attractive Tablet From Sony – Gadget Review

Sony’s entry to the tablet market was pretty slow, with their S1 and S2 tablets having been announced quite a while ago, yet only now do we see a real demonstration of their capabilities. I have to say, the Tablet S is one of the nicest and most unique Android tablets on the market – it doesn’t try to look like the iPad, and its unique wedge shape is actually useful in the real world, as it makes it easier to use it on the go, in the office or at home.

Its smaller sibling, the Tablet P, is also a very unique device, but this time Sony treads on unknown waters – the dual screen design will surely find its users, but there may not be enough of them to make it a success. The only other device with this configuration is the Kyocera Echo smartphone, which doesn’t seem to enjoy a great deal of popularity, but that might be because of its strict and boring design.

The Tablet P looks pretty cool, on the other hand, with its round shape and small footprint (compared to the total surface of the screen). It actually reminds me of the Microsoft Arc mouse, which was meant to be ultra-portable thanks to its folding design. Just like the Arc, Sony’s Tablet P folds to half its size, but when it’s open, it has two 5.5 inch touch screens (each with a resolution of 1024×480 pixels) that form one big display or can be used separately – for games, various apps or to run the keyboard on one screen while seeing what you’re typing on the other.

That makes for a very interesting experience, although if you want to take full advantage of the display, you’ll need specially optimized apps, otherwise everything will be stretched across both screens, and the black line right in the middle doesn’t look very good (it’s pretty distracting, actually).

Performance-wise, everything should be in order. Unlike Kyocera, Sony knows that you need a powerful chipset to run two displays, and they equipped the Tablet P with a Tegra 2 running at 1 GHz per core – not the fastest thing on the planet, but definitely more than enough for the job. There’s also 1 GB of RAM that will ensure you can run all your apps at once without lags or force closes, as well as 4 GB of onboard storage, with a micro SD card for additional space if you need it in the future.

All the other cool stuff is also on board, and you have support for DLNA, a 3.5 mm audio out jack, Wifi N and Bluetooth 3.0, a 5 megapixels camera for photos and HD video and a VGA camera for video calls, and a pretty big 3080 mAh battery, which should last for about 7-8 hours – I wouldn’t bet on it lasting longer, but that’s good enough for most usage patterns.

Despite the form factor, Sony decided to install Android 3.2 Honeycomb on the Tablet P, with their own customizations to the skin, as well as to the core to allow for dual screen use. That makes the Tablet P unsuitable for the modding community, so I hope Sony will release updates in the future, although Honeycomb is pretty much the pinnacle of tablet only Android.

No word on the release date and pricing, but the tablet should be available sometime in the following months – maybe it’ll be ready by Christmas? The price is supposed to be lower than the Tablet S, but by how much is unknown.

Sony releases in Japan its tablets and introduces the Tablet P and Tablet S!

1 Sony releases in Japan its tablets and introduces the Tablet P and Tablet S!
Here they are, Sony’s S1 and S2 tablets are not official, behold the Sony Tablet S or SGPT113JP/S and Sony Tablet P or SGPT211JP/S.

Sony Tablet S Series.
Introduced yesterday in Germany, the S Series tablet from Sony in Japan will come however in two different flavors with a WiFi only version featuring Android 3.1 and a 3G (Docomo) + WiFi version that will runs Android 3.2!
The S Tablet comes with a 9.4” WXGA (1280×800) screen, available in 16 or 32GB of memory for the WiFi model only while the 3G+Wifi will features only 16GB of memory. Other specification includes SD Card, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, a 0.3 Mpix front facing camera and a 5.11 Mpix rear facing camera with an Exmor for Mobile CMOS Sensor.
Battery wise, Sony announced 430h of battery standby, 31h while playing Music only, 6h of battery while watching video and 6.2h worth of web surfing for the WiFi only version and 4.5h of Web surfing in 3G.
Finally, the S Series comes with a size of 598g in its WiFi version and 625g in its 3G+WiFi version.

Sony Tablet P Series.
The P series comes with its unique dual screen and clamshell design and will be sold in Japan only in 3G+WiFi and with just 4GB of internal memory.
The Sony Tablet P comes with the same Nvidia Tegra CPU, Android 3.2, and a pair of 5.5” VGA (1024×480) screen, as well as the same pair of Camera than the P Series, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR…
Battery wise, Sony announced 120h of battery in standby, 16.8h for music playback, 6.5h for video playback, 6.1h of WiFi web surfing and only 4.6h of 3G web surfing.
The Tablet P Series comes with a size of 180x14x158mm open and 180x26x79mm once closed for a total weight of 372g.

Now, after having a bit of time playing with both models, I have to admit that when it comes to design and quality material Sony did not make any compromises. Both slates are elegant, light but does not respond as fast I was expecting them to… They are not slow, but I was expecting Sony to make a quick ass speedy tablet that will show how much they are willing to kick ass.
The other reproach that I will have to make is how “bad” the screen of both tablets are outdoor making it difficult for anyone to enjoy them under the sunlight. I strongly advise anyone who’s interesting in buying one to quickly invest in one of these mate screen protector or be ready to be the proud owner of a very expensive portable mirror.

Sony Must Announce the PlayStation 4 ASAP

playstation 4 concept tai chiem 580x410 Sony Must Announce the PlayStation 4 ASAP

Earlier this week, reports surfaced suggesting Sony would be launching the PlayStation 4 next year. Almost immediately, Sony fans jumped for joy at the news, while Microsoft fans scoffed at the idea. And along the way, Sony hasn’t said for sure what might happen.

Even so, I’m here to tell you (and Sony) that the PlayStation 4 should launch as early as possible next year. When we consider Sony’s current market position, we find a rather interesting story. Internationally, the PlayStation 3 is still selling at a rapid clip. However, in the U.S., the console continues to have trouble catching on with casual gamers that are more intrigued by the Wii and the hardcore segment that would rather play first-person shooters on the Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE.

There’s also the issue of motion gaming. Sony’s PlayStation Move just hasn’t caught on the way the company would have liked, and the Kinect’s controller-free offering seems to be appealing to a growing number of people. Combine that with Sony’s recent troubles with the PlayStation Network breach and its continuing attempt to repair its ailing brand, and I think the time is right to release the PlayStation 4.

The way I see it, the PlayStation 4 will help change the discussion surrounding Sony. Gone will be the days where the company is mercilessly criticized by those who are still upset about the PlayStation Network breach. Instead, people will talk about Sony’s new and exciting console. Even better, Sony can deliver its own console next year at or around the same time as the Wii U. That device, which features a really neat controller that might catch on with both casual and hardcore gamers alike, is right now poised for unabated success next year. By offering a PlayStation 4 that comes with the (unfortunately, necessary) motion-gaming component, but also bests the Wii U on graphical power and online gaming, Sony can single-handedly squash one key competitor.

Of course, by launching a PlayStation 4 next year, Sony will also need to worry about the Xbox 720 (or whatever it will be called) that will be launching at some point in the future. Chances are, that device will have more power than Sony’s option. But when we consider this generation, which Microsoft jumped into first and saw its Xbox 360 trumped in features by the PlayStation 3, Sony’s decision to release the PlayStation 4 might not be all that scary. After all, Microsoft’s console is still leading the PlayStation 3 even with all of its disadvantages.

So, maybe it’s time Sony stop worrying about its 10-year life cycle and get going on the PlayStation 4. At this point, it seems like the best idea for Sony.

ps3 arc THQ Boss Confirms The Sony motion sensing controller

Sony Playstation is the biggest rival of the Microsoft XBOX. Sony is also making a motion sensing controller like the Microsoft. And i don’t know who will win this race. Because both side are strong. Today, THQ President, Brian Farrell, has confirmed this to the world. It came up while he was speaking during a conference call, and stated:

“Turning to kids, family, and casual, we are focused on our continued leadership in this category, taking advantage of the lower hardware price points that we expect will attract new mass market gamers and new family-friendly platforms such as Microsoft’s Natal and Sony’s Arc motion controller.”

So lets wait for the official announcement by Sony. Sony Arc- Sounds that something is coming.

Sony Vaio E Series 2 The new Sony VAIO E Series

Sony VAIO E-Series

Sony announced a new series of laptops.  The new VAIO E Series , It’s a series which comes with a variety of colors. Like black chassis and blue keyboard keys etc. It will be in a beautiful contrast . The new series is very beautiful and it comes with 15.5-inch notebook with an Intel Core i3 processor, 4GB of RAM and up to a 500GB hard-drive and the battery life is only 3.5hrs and i think it’s very less. But it’s ok for home use i think. Optional upgrades to Core i5 processors, Blu-ray and Bluetooth are possible.  Connectivity includes an eSATA/USB combo, three further USB ports and an HDMI port, and there’s a face-tracking webcam too. The new E-series is expected to begin shipping in February 2010 with the price tag of  $799.99. What you guys think about? Ugly or Beautiful?
