After last month’s websiteand image leaks, we’ve been waiting for Sony Ericsson to make it official. And now they have. The Xperia Acro, flaunting a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 8.1 megapixel camera, and Adreno 205 GPU is heading to Japan this summer — making it a possible match for the Azusa, uncovered by NenaMark earlier this week. The new kid in Akihabara was designed specifically for the Japanese market, runs Android 2.3.3 on a 4.2-inch touchscreen, and adds unique features like a mobile wallet and TV functionality. Hit the break for some quick and dirty PR.

A Chinese blog unveiled some pictures of the upcoming Windows Phone 7 from Sony Ericsson. These pictures show a device clearly labelled as a prototype and not for sale, and it shows an attractive, large-screened and relatively thin slider.
The UI is clearly from a very old build of Windows Phone 7, and it has been suggested by some of our readers that this may be a scrapped handset after Microsoft and Sony Ericsson could not come to an agreement around Xbox Live after Mobile World Congress 2011. As we know that Sony Ericsson was after all one of the announced launch partners at the time.
In fact we have a report from June 2010 of a device called the Sony Ericsson Julie, which was said to feature a 4 inch screen like the SE X10, a sliding QWERTY keyboard and a 1 Ghz processor, standard for the Windows Phone 7 platform.
On the other hand we have had recent reports that Sony Ericsson is still working on a Windows Phone 7 handset, and what would be easier than to resurrect a mothballed project? More Pictures after the jump

We’ve heard many rumors about this Playstation phone from Sony Ericsson and we’ve heard that the device will be named under the ‘Xperia’ brand and now we can reveal that the gaming handset will almost certainly go under the ‘Xperia Play’ brand. One of our sources have some evidence in the form of a European Union trademark filing using the ‘Xperia Play’ name. Surprisingly, XperiaPlay domain names (including com, net and org) have been registered by a PR agency called Jung Relations which is based in Stockholm, Sweden (where Sony Ericsson is based). Of course we guess that one of its clients is Sony Ericsson. Pocket-Lint has a statement that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play will launch at MWC and will be available is shops starting from April. It’s an interesting device, let’s wait for the next issue. [Xperia10]

Even though it is too good to be true but I hope Sony Ericsson will make this gadget became a reality soon. We have New videos of the still unannounced Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone codenamed Zeus. This smartphone is powered by the Gingerbread Android OS. Moreover, we can now clearly see a PlayStation app that appears to be the device’s gateway into a PlayStation-branded gaming experience. While no games are installed on the device depicted in the videos, the PlayStation app shows a series of tabs that organize games into various lists such as “Recently Played” and “Recently Added.” There is also a search feature and what appears to be a shortcut to the PlayStation game store. Rumors suggest Sony Ericsson may announce the device later this month. I can’t wait to see this. Watch the video after the jump. [BGR] Continue Reading

Have you heard that Sony Ericsson has just joined the tablet’s market? I’m surprised that we haven’t covered that Anzu, a tablet by Sony Ericsson to possibly be the Android Gingerbread flagship. Recently, someone in Russia is testing the device which is still running on Android 2.1. The Anzu tablet should be available early in 2011 with Android 2.2 and then shift to Gingerbread (Android 2.3). Some information about the tablet, it comes with a 4.3 inch display and will have 854 x 480 resolution, 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM7230, and a 12 Megapixel camera. Stay tuned with us because we’ll be hearing more about this tablet in the future.

The Sony Ericsson X10 Mini is a truly worthy device with it’s small body and the 2.5″ screen. As you know The next generation of the X10 Mini is the X10 Mini Pro, it almost has the same specs like the original X10 Mini Pro except it has a slide-out four row keyboard for those that don’t have patience for the tiny T9 on-screen keyboard of the X10 Mini. You can get the Mini Pro with the 850 and 1900 UMTS bands, which will allow you to get 3G on AT&T. It’s currently selling for a reasonable $350 over at Negri Electronics. [Pocketnow]

Currently I’m using Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700 with Android 2.1 OS, I bought it for about $280 in Indonesia. But I think this newest Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 could be a good alternative to feel the Android sensation because it will be retailed with less than EUR200 (US$247). Yes, so if you consider to have an android smartphone with a low budget you could take a look at this Xperia X8. The Xperia X8 comes with 3 inch TFT HVGA with 320 x 480 pixels capacitive touchscreen (same size with spica i5700) it means that the size is between X10 mini and X10, 128MB internal storage with additional storage via microSD card, a 3.2 megapixel camera with VGA video recording, Wi-Fi 802.11g and HSPA at 7.2Mbps download. So I guess it’s a pretty good offer, doesn’t it? No official confirmation yet whether the phone will be launched with OS 1.6 then be updated to OS 2.1 later or directly pre-loading OS 2.1, but it looks like it will be available in Q3. [Slashphone]
