T mobile tab Market Sharing War: Latest is $200 Tab From T Mobile

Today, the consumer electronic market of full of brands and each brand is trying to cut more and more share, especially in electronic gadgets market. iPad, Android tabs, Kindle Fire and still we may see something new and innovative in coming future.

The Market Watch

After the launch of iPad in the year 2010, all the manufacturers who were involved into consumer electronics thought of coming up with something that would give a strong fight to Apple. But the truth is, despite Android tablets have hit the markets but they are not selling as iPads still cover 60% of market share which is reasonably good. Consumers are not looking for tablets, they want iPads. It would not be wrong to say that; Android tablets have not been successful in gaining the reputation which Apple iPads have earned in the last one year.

$200 Tab from T-Mobile

T-Mobile teamed up with Chinese computer company Huawei to introduce a sub-$200 tablet and it looks like HTC with its sturdy exterior and metal looks. Basically, it’s a 7-inch tablet and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. Fortunately, there are some features which are present in the Springboard which Amazon’s Fire: it comes with a 5-megapixel front facing camera and a 1.3 mega-pixel back facing camera. Since Amazon and Huawei both have different opinion for cameras since Amazon is not in favour of having cameras on tablets but Huawei is, so we will have to wait and watch when their tablets are released.

Samsung Galaxy S II and HTC Amaze 4G

Both the HTC Amaze 4Gand the Galaxy S II are now available for purchase, rounding out T-Mobile’s already broad selection of Android devices with two more great ones.  Both of these phones will take advantage of the new HSPA+42 network to offer great download speeds with minimal battery life impact, and let’s be honest — they both look HAWT.

The Amaze 4G is a 4.3-inch qHD display, on top of a stunning body design.  The innards are amazing  as well, with a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon, 1GB of RAM, the latest version of HTC Sense on the Android 2.3.4 platform, and HTC’s new camera at 8MP.  It’ll cost $259 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in-rebate.

The Galaxy S II takes things a bit further in the size department, with a 4.53-inch Super AMOLED plus display.  Under the hood some changes were made from the original Galaxy S II line, to allow the 42 Mbps network to function – but you’ll never notice.  The dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon and 1GB RAM make Touchwiz 4 fly.  It’ll cost $229 with a two-year contract and $50 mail-in-rebate.[AC]

What Does T-Mobile Have To Compete With The iPhone 4S?

What Does T-Mobile Have To Compete With The iPhone 4S?

iPhone 4S T Mobile What Does T Mobile Have To Compete With The iPhone 4S?

As you’ve probably heard by now, Apple has finally decided to launch the iPhone via Sprint, too (both the 4S and 4 versions).

The third largest US carrier has thus joined Verizon, which is offering Apple’s smartphone since February this year, and AT&T, which is selling the iPhone since the very first day it was launched (back in 2007). This, of course, leaves T-Mobile as the only major US carrier that doesn’t have the iPhone in its line-up.

Not long before Tim Cook unveiled the new iPhone 4S in Cupertino last week, Cole Brodman, Chief Marketing Officer at T-Mobile USA, posted an article over at the carrier’s official blog, titled “About the iPhone.” In the article, the CMO stated:

“We think the iPhone is a great device and Apple knows that we’d like to add it to our line-up. Today, there are over a million T-Mobile customers using unlocked iPhones on our network. “

Naturally, this gave hopes that T-Mobile would carry the iPhone starting later this year. But it obviously won’t happen. So, one may think that T-Mo is going to lose a fairly important part of its customers because of this. Well, maybe. But I don’t see why this will matter in the long run. Not with AT&T ready to buy T-Mobile. Even though many (including Sprint) are opposing the merger, I’m pretty sure the deal will take place, and it should be closed sometime next year – when current T-Mobile customers will finally be able to buy subsidized iPhones.

This (the AT&T acquisition) was likely one of the main reasons why Apple didn’t want to complicate things now with an iPhone for T-Mobile USA. Another possible reason is that T-Mo’s HSPA network uses the 1700MHz AWS spectrum band (unlike AT&T’s) – so Apple would’ve needed to put a different 3G radio in the iPhone 4S than the one featured now for it to work on T-Mo’s 3G. Apple may have thought this would be too much of a hassle (especially since the new iPhone also has a CDMA / EV-DO radio inside), and it probably considered T-Mobile (with its 33 million customers) is too small for all the trouble.

Anyway, until the AT&T – T-Mobile merger is completed, does T-Mo have smartphones that can stand next to the new iPhone 4S? Well, yes, it does: the Samsung Galaxy S II ($229 on contract) and the HTC Amaze 4G ($259 on contract), which are both available for order as of today, coming with Android Gingerbread, dual-core processors, 8MP cameras, and quite awesome displays (4.3 inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus on the S II, and 4.3 inch qHD on the Amaze 4G).

And let’s not forget about the HTC Sensation 4G (launched not long ago for $199), which also features Gingerbread, a qHD screen, dual-core processor, and 8MP camera. There’s also the HTC Radar 4G, but that’s an option only if you’re into Windows Phone (Mango), since it can’t really compete with the iPhone 4S specs-wise.

So, T-Mo (which, by the way, has just announced two new Android tablets) certainly has iPhone 4S alternatives. Sure enough, this won’t keep some customers from leaving the carrier to get the new iPhone 4S. But as long as they’re going to AT&T, in a way they’ll come back to T-Mobile after the former completes the acquisition of the latter.

LGmytouch T Mobile Officially Announces The Mytouch and Mytouch Q by LG

LG MyTouch and LG MyTouch Q

Today T-Mobile announced the LG myTouch and myTouch Q. You may remember the duo from last months T-Mobile Youtube slip, which left us wondering about the possibility of one device having a QWERTY keyboard. Well, no more guessing, it’s now official. There’s the LG myTouch, which will not have a physical keyboard and the myTouch Q, which will be equipped with a QWERTY keyboard.

Both devices will be running Android 2.3 and rocking a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 5MP camera with 720p video, and a Genius button. Besides the Q having a physical keyboard, it will also sport a smaller 3.5 inch touchscreen, while the myTouch will have a 3.8 inch touchscreen. The Q will also lack the front facing camera and T-Mobile Video Chat which comes on the myTouch version. Both devices will feature T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 4G and be available to purchase in one of two colors. The myTouch will be offered in either black or white, while the myTouch Q will come in either gray or violet. I guess they are assuming more females use physical keyboards than males? I think they’re right.

There’s no mention of price or release date but they’re definitely coming. Anyone interested in a LG myTouch series? Let us know what you think of T-Mobile’s latest offerings. [PH]
